Evaluation

This is a school-related post, where I’m going to evaluate my blog and my effort in the Project and Specialization-class.

When we first made a blog, I was actually really determined that it was going to be great. I had a lot of inspiration, and I wanted to make a blog that I could be proud of and write about what I find interesting, like music, movies and travel for example.
The design started out really bad, but after a while I changed the blog platform and found my own “style”!

But now I’m gonna talk a little bit about the blog I’m currently using www.ibenheleneUSA.blogg.no (I’ve shut this one down for a while, since I can’t find the time to make great posts!).

The design is really light and feminine. I think it’s easy to navigate the menu that you see on right side. First you have an introduction about me, then “Katergorier” and “Arkiv”, so you can read older posts (it’s really easy to use, so I love that feature!), and in the bottom you have links to other exchangestudents’ blogs! The little blue button takes you to my Bloglovin’ page, like an RSS-page.

The header is quite simple, I like it that way. It is just a picture of me and my blog address.
The posts on this blog is filled with irony and humor, and I always try to post pictures wether it’s Google pictures or pictures I’ve taken myself. I’m not that good at writing where the pictures are from, but I’m going to improve that, haha!

I found the design at this blog, and just made some small adjustments because I liked the base. But I’m thinking about changing the design, as it’s getting a little old (and I’m getting easily tired of designs!). I’m thinking about using this:

You can find the design here.
Of course I’ll make some small adjustments on this one too, we’ll see how it goes.

On this blog, I’ve just kept it simple, posted pictures, music, videos and schoolwork. I probably should’ve posted more schoolwork, and I’m actually going to do that! I’ve made som nice pictures on photoshop that I’m thinking about sharing with you. So all in all I’m pretty pleased with the way my blogs worked out!

Chen Chien-Jen’s Art Exhibition

14th of April, my class and I went to see Chen Chien-Jen’s art exhibition. The 3,14 foundation, the foundation Chen is working for, is working to get people excited and curious, they challenge people to be independent and look at things critically.

They want to inspire and increase students awareness of meaningful and current contemporary art.
Their goal is letting students get a natural relationship to the visual art, and see the relations between different topics and problemformulations in todays global society.

Chen Chien-Jen lets us see different situations, tragic situations. I asked myself how this exhibition affected me.

From the movie Factory. Photo taken from here.

When we watched the movies, they could seem kind of boring, and this was because he didn’t use any music or special effects, just black and white film and the voices of the actors. Well, one of the movies were completely silent, but there was this feeling over it, that just made me feel this was exciting and tragic. It was supposed to tell you something.

The video where women were talking about how hard it was to get into Taiwan was SO interesting! I was so shocked because of the way they were treated, and when Chen made the movie so simple, it was because these stories would speak for themselves.

Since it’s been a while since I saw the exhibition, I must say some of the details are gone by now, but I definitely remember that it was something that made an impression on me! I wanted to get on a flight to get over there and just yell at the people that suppresses other human beings like that! Sometimes I just want to fix the world. So this art exhibition really got me thinking.

Florida Playlist

Woaah, I picked up these songs on the radio in Florida. Sooo fun :) Karoline and me love the spanglish/spanish songs, haha! Felt like we were in Spain actually, when we were cruising out on the highway in a convertible! But anyways, pictures from our trip will be out one of these days, in the meantime you can enjoy these songs:

I think Matthew West is one of my new favorites… Haha, I never heard of him before I went to USA, but now I love his music!

Take care :)

No doubt that this kid can sing, woah! Her voice is still young, but in a few years she will take over the stage.

WRONG

Woah… This is one of the reasons why I’m NOT Christian. No offense to the people that are Christians, but I think this is just wrong, wrong, wrong. Old-school thinking right here. If it was up to this man, we should live in year 0.

So much has been said about the girls over the years. But we have never found an answer. It didn’t matter in the end how old they had been, or that they were girls, but only that we had loved them… and that they hadn’t heard us calling. Still do not hear us calling them from out of those rooms, where they went to be alone for all time… And where we will never find the pieces to put them back together.
